Why a site at this address argues that the thing in its domain name does not exist.
Why This Site Exists
Hundreds of thousands of people a year search for how to register an emotional support animal. Almost all of them are asking a reasonable question with a false premise, and almost all of the pages competing for that search are selling them a certificate.
We bought the most literal domain for the query and put the correct answer on it. Maybe you came here to register an animal. If you leave knowing three things, this site has done its job. There is no registry. A clinician letter is the document that matters. And a written request to your housing provider is the step that creates their legal duty.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not run a registry, and we will not start one.
- We do not sell certificates, ID cards, vests, tags or patches.
- We do not conduct evaluations or issue letters — that requires a clinician licensed in your state.
- We do not provide legal advice. We describe what statutes and federal guidance say, with links to the primary sources so you can check.
How We Research and Write These Pages
Every legal claim on this site traces to a statute, a regulation or an agency publication, and those are listed at the foot of each page. State pages are built from each state’s own record — its fair housing statute, its enforcement agency, its waiting period if it has one, its HUD region — rather than from a template with a name changed.
Where we are uncertain, we say so. Where the law changed recently, as it did on 22 May 2026, we date the change and describe what it did and did not do. Our editorial standards page sets out the rules we hold ourselves to, including the claims we will not make.
Corrections
Statutes get amended, agencies reorganize, and links rot. If you find something out of date or wrong, tell us and we will fix it — contact details here. Corrections to substantive legal claims are noted on the page.

Do you make money from this?
The site does not sell products. Where we describe evaluation services we describe the category rather than steering you to one, and the six questions on our scams page are written so you can assess any provider, including any we might ever work with.
Are you lawyers?
No, and nothing here is legal advice. For a specific dispute, contact your state fair housing agency or a fair housing organization in your area — many offer free assistance.
Why a .org domain?
Because it matched the search term. We note on the scams page that a .org tells you nothing about an operator, and that applies to us as much as to anyone.
