Privacy Policy
What this site collects, what it does not, and the rights you can exercise.
The Short Version
This is a reference site. There is no account to create, no form asking for health information, and no product to buy. The only personal information we hold is what you send us by email.
What We Collect
| Category | What | Why | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Correspondence | Your email address and message | To reply | 24 months |
| Server logs | IP address, user agent, pages requested | Security and diagnostics | 30 days |
| Aggregate analytics | Page views and referrers, not tied to an individual | To see which pages help | 26 months |
What We Do Not Collect
- Health or diagnostic information. Please do not send it — we do not need it and cannot act on it.
- Payment details. Nothing is sold here.
- Anything from anyone we know to be under 13.
Who We Share Data With
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. Information is disclosed only to our hosting and email providers to the extent needed to run the site, or where legally required.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port your information, and to opt out of sale or sharing. California (CCPA/CPRA), Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas and a growing number of other states provide these. We extend the same rights to everyone rather than checking your state first. Write to privacy@emotionalsupportanimalregistration.org; we respond within 45 days.
A Note About HIPAA
HIPAA applies to covered entities — healthcare providers, plans and clearinghouses — and to their business associates. An informational website is not a covered entity, and neither, generally, is a commercial ESA registry. That is worth knowing before you upload medical records to one. Your clinician is covered, which is one of several reasons the clinical route is the safer one for your information as well as your housing.
Cookies
The site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Session storage is used for one thing: remembering that you dismissed the bar at the bottom of the page. That never leaves your browser.
Changes to This Policy
Material changes are noted here with a revised date. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised policy.
Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you use Google Analytics?
Where aggregate analytics are used they are configured without advertising features and with IP anonymisation. No profile of you is built.
Can I read the site without being tracked?
Yes. Nothing on the site requires JavaScript, and blocking it changes nothing except the mobile menu animation.
How do I delete my data?
Email the privacy address. If all we hold is prior correspondence, we delete it and confirm.
Skip the Registry. Get a Real ESA Letter.
A clinician licensed in your state, a letter that meets the requirements, and a written request to your housing provider. That is the whole route.
